Teach me to take all grace

And spring it into blades of act,

Grow spears and sheaves of charity,

While each new instant, (new eternity)

Flowering with clean and individual circumstance,

Speaks to me the whisper of His consecrating Spirit.

Then will obedience bring forth new incarnations,

Shining to God with the features of His Christ.

-Thomas Merton

The ignorant man does not know how little he knows.

You become foolish by listening to fools.

One man is rich, another man is poor, neither has the other to blame.

-Hãvamãl

God enters gradually, bringing light and meaning to the emerging human mind.

- Esther deWaal

Remember that you are special to Him; He has chosen you with great love.

-Mother Teresa

Who wants to drink a new rather than a vintage wine?

-Jesus

When you know the Truth of Being, you are, as a literal fact and not merely a rhetorical sense, the absolute monarch of your life. You attract yourself to riches or poverty, and Peace of Mind or fear- entirely in accordance with the way you govern your Kingdom. You make your own conditions and you can unmake them.

Your own body is a manifestation of God, and if you honor your body, everything will change for you. When you practice giving love to every part of your body, you plant seeds of love in your mind, and when they grow, you will love, honor, and respect your body immensely. Every action becomes a ritual in which you are honoring God. After that, the next step is honoring God with every thought, every emotion, every belief, even what is “right” and “wrong.” Every thought becomes a communion with God.

- Miguel Ruiz

The Practice of Meditation

It is not those who lack energy or refrain from action, but those who work without expectations of reward who attain the goal of meditation. Theirs is true renunciation.

- Bhagavad Gita

Natural openness is the spaciousness of our sky-like minds. Fundamentally, our minds are expansive, flexible and curious; they are pre-prejudice, so to speak.

-Pema Chödrön

Good and Evil

What is evil but good, tortured by its own hunger and thirst?

Verily, when good is hungry, it seeks food in even dark caves, and when it thirsts, it drinks even of dead waters.

You are good when you are at one with yourself.

Yet you are not evil when you seek gain for yourself.

For a divided house is not a den of thieves; it is only a divided house.

And the ship without a rudder may wander aimlessly among perilous isles yet not sink to its bottom.

You are good when you strive to give of yourself.

You are good when you are fully awake in your speech.

You are good when you walk to your goal firmly and with bold steps.

You are good in countless ways, and you are not evil when you are not good.

- Kahlil Gibran

Stills

I have nowhere

to go and

nowhere to go

A.R. Ammons

Holes in fences, cracks in walls,

That's all I can offer, love.

I've been building for so long.

My chest-

My barricades-

Could you break them down?

I'm ready to meet you,

meet you on that soft,

soft ground.

-Jess Adams

Who Makes These Changes?

I shoot an arrow right. It lands left.

I ride after a deer and find myself chased by a hog.

I plot to get what I want and I end up in prison.

I dig pits to trap others and fall in.

I shall be suspicious

Of what I want.

- Rumi.
