But if you love and must have desires, let these be your desires:

-to melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
-to know the pain of too much tenderness.
-to be wounded by your own understanding of love.
-and to bleed willingly and joyfully.
-to wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.
-to rest at the noon hour and meditate loves ecstasy.
-To return home at eventide and give thanks for another day of loving; with gratitude.

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise on your lips.

-When you love, you should not say “God is in my heart”. But rather. “I am in the heart of God.”

-Kahlil Gibran

We are what we love. If we love God, we discover ourselves in him and we cannot help being happy; we have already achieved something of the fullness of being for which we were destined in our own creation.

- Thomas Merton

When you keep thinking of sense objects, attachments come. Attachments breed desire, the lust of possessions that burns to anger. Anger clouds the judgment; You can no longer learn from past mistakes. Lost is the power to choose between what is wise and what is unwise, and your life is an utter waste.

But when you move amidst the world of sense, free from attachment and aversion alike, here comes the peace in which all sorrows end, and you live in the wisdom of self.

- Bhagavad Gita

The things one has to sacrifice are selfishness and fear and belief in necessary limitation of any kind. Above all, one has to sacrifice the belief that there is any power or endurance in evil, apart from the power that we ourselves give it by believing in it.

- Emmett Fox

In looking to our mother, we are encouraged to leave aside so much useless junk and rediscover what counts. We need, all of us, a mother's heart. Able to keep the tenderness of God and listen to the stirrings of man.

To start over, let us look at our mother.
In her beats the heart of our church.

- Pope Francis

Don't give sacred things to dogs, or throw pearls to pigs. They will trample them under foot, or turn and tear you to shreds.

- Jesus

Your wife was loving, she had a big heart for the suffering. And she went to Jesus. Since Jesus is in your heart, she must be there too, more close than before.

- Mother Teresa

I have calmed and quickened my whole being
I'm like a child contented at the mother's breast,
In the stillness, I look into the eyes of my lover.
I am absorbed in the task of the moment.
It is like the silence of an evening in spring.
Made intense by the bleat of a lamb
It is like the waves of the sea come to rest,
No more than a whisper in the caress of the shore.
The silence and stillness lift the woodsmoke of prayer.

- Psalm 131

In your whole life, nobody has ever abused you more than you have abused yourself.

- Miguel Ruiz

Oxymoronic Love

This is the loudest silence I have ever heard.
Your absence is the strongest presence I have ever felt,
And this hatred has got to be the realist love
That ever existed.

- Dnu Anthony

This slowly drifting cloud is pitiful;
What dreamwalkers men become.
Awakened, I hear one true thing-
Black rain on the roof of the temple.

- Ehei Dögen

Other characteristics keep you from loving: the four birds.
The rooster of lust
The peacock of wanting to be famous
The duck of urgency
The crow of ownership
Say Bismillah “In the name of God.”
And chop the heads off the mischief birds.

- Rumi
